Holiday Safety
Road Safety
The rules of the road can be very different, drivers are not obliged to stop at pedestrian crossings, you should be extra cautious when crossings roads, remember in Spain the traffic will be coming from the opposite direction. When driving please be aware of local regulations and NEVER drink and drive, this is now an offence in most countries and can carry severe penalties.
Variable road conditions and drivers attitudes towards mopeds, scooters and motor cycles can make them a dangerous option overseas, particularly for those unused to riding them at home. We do not recommend moped hire, even for experienced riders.
Fire Safety
When you first arrive at your hotel or apartment you should plan how you and your party would leave if the fire alarm sounds. Familiarise yourself with the following:
Read the fire instruction notice in your room or apartment.
Where your nearest exit is.
The fire assembly point if you should need to evacuate.
How to raise the alarm should you see smoke or fire.
In the event of a fire NEVER use the lifts.
Children's Safety
Children are naturally curious and even more so while on holiday. Balconies, lifts, playgrounds and swimming pools are just some of the areas that accidents occur. Please remember to supervise children at all times.
Before using a cot, ensure that all vertical bars are not more than 10cms apart and that the mattress fits correctly into the base. If the side bar is adjustable make sure that it is high enough to prevent the child from climbing out. Cots and highchairs should be sturdy with no sharp edges
Balcony and Glass Safety
Never leave young children unsupervised on balconies. Keep balcony furniture away from the railings, to prevent children climbing up. Adults should also remember never to sit on or lean over the balcony rail
