Julie and Tim would like to present their ‘ambushed stars’ to you. What they say about the entertainer will be a kind of informal ‘from the punter’s’ point of view. They hope this will be informative for you.
MEET THE OFFICIAL STALKERS
It all started in June 2005. Julie and Tim from Manchester UK had become regular visitors to Benidorm. They didn’t go there for the beaches, lovely as they are. They didn’t go there for the Hotel swimming pool, as they were too busy having their siesta for what lay ahead. Since their first visit together in January 2003, they had become addicted to the comedians and musicians who perform in the many cabaret clubs and bars until the early hours of the morning. So what began in June 2005? Julie, with her camera, and her husband, decided to ‘ambush the stars’.
So, what about Julie? She first visited Benidorm with her mother in 1974, well, she couldn’t be on her own, she was only seven. She had been several more times before 2003, but that was when she caught the Benidorm bug, (more of that later, and we don’t mean the sniffles and sore throat either). Julie is officially a Civil Servant. In actual fact, she works in one of the most stressful environments, where she receives verbal and physical assault, but where she can also see tragic, emotional trauma, so her regular trips to Benidorm, and ambushing the stars, is something very valuable to her. She does not want yoga to relieve her stress, or tantric meditation, just Benidorm five or six times a year!

What about Tim? He writes and publishes music, not the heavy kind, the sort of music you hear on BBC Radio 2 played by the BBC Concert Orchestra, or a Military or Brass Band. Tim was playing in a local brass band in 2002 when he met Julie. (Julie is one of those people you would think was a professional musician, but it is just a hobby). I suppose you could say that for Tim, Benidorm is like going to a grown up party when he was a little boy. He likes the excitement, not having to be squeaky clean, and being in the environment of the cabaret clubs and bars, reminding him of those times when he also performed in the entertainment industry.
