He can currently be found entertaining at the Terrace bar outside the Rosaire Hotel which is situated at the Rincon end of Calle Gerona opposite the Tourist Information office. This venue has been a part of his summer timetable for the past 10 years and he will be there seven nights a week right the way through to October.
During the winter months Ron can be found at various venues which have included the Western Saloon, The Red Dog and the Sanctuary Bar adjacent to the Hotel Orange at the top of the British Square.
I stayed to listen to Ron perform one his sets and have to say liked what I heard, not only did he perform with his trusty guitar very well but almost did the entire evening segue, hardly stopping to draw breath between songs. He certainly knew what his audience liked and it was refreshing to be able to listen to music which wasn’t too loud. I found myself either singing along to myself or tapping my foot to the rhythm of the music. Ron went through songs which included Little Ol’ Wine Drinker Me, Back to the Wild Side of Life and many other country favourites together with hits from the 50’s & 60’s. He boasts that all his music is live and has no backing tracks or discs, the only ‘extra’ he uses is a rhythm box which adds drums as an accompaniment.
If you’re looking for a relaxing early evening drink ‘al fresco’ with good music take a walk to the Rosaire Hotel and see Ron Jones play some good old country songs Yee-Ha.

We focus this week on one of Benidorm’s longest serving artistes who people come back to see time and time again. Ron Jones first came to Benidorm a little over 12 years ago from his native Staffordshire where he worked the Pubs and Clubs as a Country and Western self contained artiste and began working in the Hotels around the Benidorm area.
